Why Jacob Marley?
Jacob Marley, a fictional character of Charles Dickens, lived a miserable, miserly life. But after his death, he made an about-face to benefit mankind. In using his name for our company, we intend also to benefit mankind with books, sometimes as mirrors, that re-instill in each of us the nobleness of humanity that ultimately prevails.
Like Jacob Marley, our characters with imperfect backgrounds seek the good.

A Home-Based Independent Publisher
We are a home-based independent publisher, which means every book gets read closely by the people whose name is on the company. New titles go up as soon as they are copyrighted, so the catalog grows a few books at a time rather than by the season.
Working this way keeps us slower than a large house. It also means a writer talks to the person making the decision.
Our Authors
A psychology graduate who puts her characters through the complications she studied. A newspaper editor who left for Los Angeles with a typewriter, a camera and a gas card. A licensed counselor of forty years. A school principal whose own board sent him to work in a prison. Six writers, fourteen books.

Kate L. Hart’s writing has the amazing capacity to get deeper and better by the book. She holds a BS in Psychology with a minor in Marriage and Family Relationships, which allows her to thrust her fictional characters into real-life complexities that draw honest emotions to unparalleled levels of anguish and euphoria. She enjoys placing her characters in complicated relationships and exploring how they find a healthy balance in life.
Her life in the South lets her speak twang fluently, yet she can give you a taste of Pacific Northwest brush-off and a scorch of the arid climate of the Southwest desert. Having lived in various states and conducted thorough research, she has authored seven books. Her fascination with relationships and the intricate dynamics of Victorian women is often reflected in her storytelling.

After graduating from college, he took off to Los Angeles with a typewriter and camera, $20 and a gas card. He became a newspaper photographer, later an editor. In his career, he traveled to more than 40 other countries.
A lifelong student of human nature, he finds creative ways to dip deeper into the mind and spirit through writing about magic realism to share that understanding. Father of six, former editor and lay religious leader, he enjoys fitness and service.

John Waterbury
For the Latter-day Saint in Crisis
John Waterbury was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and raised in Illinois. He received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Arkansas State University. He was a Licensed Professional Counselor for 40 years.
During his practice, he was a frequent guest on a radio talk show regarding abuse and alcoholism and later had his own radio talk show about mental health and chemical dependence. He wrote a column that was carried by newspapers in four states. He also taught at the University of Tennessee and was employed by two major hospital corporations. He served as bishop in Bountiful, Utah.
He and his wife have been married for 51 years and are the parents of four children. They have 10 grandchildren.
